Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need to pay?

No, all services provided by WiSe are free of charge

If you require results in letter form, you will however have to pay a £35 admin fee for these results.

I have no symptoms, could I still have an STI?

Many STI's have no symptoms at all.

It’s important to get tested even if you think nothing is wrong as you may risk passing on infection or developing further problems.

Do you provide condoms?

Yes

Once registered on our computer system, you can collect condoms from any of our service locations during opening times

I'm not sure if I need to come to the clinic, can I speak to someone over the phone?

Yes, however clinicians may be busy when you ring and we may need to take down a message and get a nurse or doctor to ring you back

Can I give a false name when I attend?

Yes, you can use a false name but you will need to remember it for future appointments or if a nurse or doctor needs to get hold of you. It is advisable to use your correct date of birth.

Some patients are reluctant to provide us with their correct details, we advise you to provide these as we may need to book further appointments or sometimes we may need to refer to have investigations (such as an ultrasound scan), without the correct patient name or date of birth, we will be unable to refer you on.

We at WiSe understand that sexual health is a sensitive topic and this is why we are always careful to check with method of contact you would prefer.
